About the Clinician

Emily Macfarlane, M.A., LMFT.0001541, has over 20 years experience working with children, teens and families in various settings. She received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Hawaii, and has a Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Utah State University, Logan, UT. She is committed to providing high quality counseling services to individuals, couples and families. She currently has an office in Loveland, CO and is expanding services to the Colorado Springs area, where she will provide social skills group therapy for children with social deficits.

A former special education teacher, Emily has taught classes for children with autism, emotional disturbances, developmental delays, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and a variety of other behavioral and emotional issues. She ran a small business in California where she provided in-home behavioral coaching and support for families along with social skills group training for children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. Emily has extensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and utilizes these when running social skills groups and when working with children and families. Emily firmly believes that with the proper behavioral support and interventions, children with disabilities or emotional challenges can learn to independently manage their own behavior and achieve far greater success than many people believe possible.

Emily loves working with children, teens, couples and families and feels passionately about strengthening marriage and family relationships and helping people learn how to cope with life's difficult circumstances.
